At Buckaroo Buddies Pet Care, professional pet care means more than completing a list of tasks. It means getting to know the pet in front of us, noticing when something changes, and having the judgment to respond appropriately.
The Ranch Standard is the set of principles behind every visit—so every member of the Buckaroo Crew understands not only what we do, but why we do it.
Know the Pet
Good care starts with knowing what “normal” looks like.
We learn your pet’s routines, preferences, personality and comfort level so we can provide familiar, individualized care—and recognize when something seems different.
Notice the Details
We don’t just check in. We pay attention.
From appetite and bathroom habits to mobility and behavior, we notice the little things, document each visit and communicate when something doesn’t seem quite right.
Respect the Individual
Care should fit the pet, not the other way around.
Using Fear Free principles, we adjust our approach to each pet’s comfort level. We give fearful, shy and reactive pets the time and space they need rather than forcing interaction.
Choose Safety First
The plan matters. Safety matters more.
Hot pavement, storms, unsafe equipment or an unexpected situation can change the plan. Our team is empowered to use good judgment and choose the safest option.
Own the Responsibility
When your pets are in our care, responsibility is clear.
We document care, communicate as a team and follow established emergency procedures. We also don’t split vacation care with other providers, friends or family.
Know Our Limits
Knowing when to say “no” is part of professional care.
We stay within our training and professional scope. If we don’t believe we can safely meet a pet’s needs, we’ll be upfront - even when that means we're not the right provider.
