Getting started with a new pet care provider comes with plenty of questions, and we're here to help. This page covers the topics new clients ask about most often, including our service area, booking process, Meet & Greets, and trial visits. At Buckaroo Buddies Pet Care, we believe great pet care starts with strong relationships. Taking the time to get to know you, your pets, and their routines helps us provide safe, personalized care and peace of mind from day one.
What areas do you serve?
For pet sitting visits and dog walking, we primarily serve Stevens Ranch, Redbird Ranch, and surrounding areas of Far West San Antonio.
For overnight care, we may be able to accommodate clients throughout the greater San Antonio area, depending on location, scheduling, and availability.

Why is a Meet & Greet required?
Meet & Greets allow us to get to know your pets, learn their routines, discuss your expectations, and ensure we're a good fit for one another. They also give your pets an opportunity to meet us before care begins, helping reduce stress and build familiarity.
How far in advance should I book?
The earlier, the better—especially for holidays, school breaks, and peak travel seasons. While we do our best to accommodate last-minute requests when schedules allow, booking early gives you the best chance of securing your preferred dates and visit times.
How do I get started with Buckaroo Buddies?
The first step is submitting an inquiry through our website. We'll send you an invitation to create your secure client portal account, where you'll provide information about your pets, home, veterinarian, and care needs. Once your profile is complete, we'll schedule a Meet & Greet to get acquainted and discuss the best care plan for your pets.
When are trial visits recommended?
Trial visits aren't required for every client, but they may be recommended for fearful, shy, or reactive pets, pets with complex care needs, or before extended trips and overnight care. Some clients also choose a trial visit for added peace of mind.
Trial visits help us practice your pet's routine, identify any concerns, and ensure everyone is comfortable before a longer period of care. We'll discuss whether a trial visit is a good fit during your Meet & Greet.
What happens after I book services?
Once services are confirmed, you'll receive confirmation through your client portal. During your scheduled visits, you'll receive detailed visit reports with notes and photos so you can stay connected to your pets while you're away. Our goal is to make the entire process easy, transparent, and stress-free from start to finish.
